There are several options for using a solo bagpiper at a wedding.
1) At the church, piping the bride/groom and wedding party out at the end of the service.
2) Piping the bride and groom into the reception. Then, leading them to their table and playing a salute. (Usually a medley of 5-7 tunes).
Remember, bagpipes are loud, definitely not background music. The lone piper is mainly for ceremonial use.
